Dr. Koby (Jacob) Sheffy is a co-inventor of the PAT technology and served as Itamar Medical's Chief Technology Officer and Chief Scientist where he led the development of the technology to PAT based non-invasive diagnostic products.
Over the years Dr. Sheffy established worldwide scientific collaboration and research programs with leading academic and clinical centers that have positioned PAT as a key diagnostic technology in cardiovascular and sleep medicine, that has been the subject of over 1,000 peer reviewed scientific publications. Prior to the foundation of Itamar Medical, he served in various senior R&D positions in Rafael – Advanced Defense Systems, the Sleep Medicine Center at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and the Wolfson Medical Center.
Koby holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Haifa, Israel and gained his PhD in multidisciplinary research between the departments of Engineering, Oxford Brookes University and Anesthesiology and Clinical Neurophysiology, University of Oxford, UK. Dr. Sheffy has over 100 publications and international patents.
