FTDI Drivers Installation Instructions

Before connecting the WatchPATTM 300 device to the computer please follow the instructions for installing the required FTDI drivers!

Note: You need admin rights for installing or uninstalling.

Installing FTDI drivers procedure

  1. zzzPAT users: Locate the CDM21228_Setup.exe file on your computer where zzzPAT (version 5.0.75.xx or greater) was installed. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Itamar medical\zzzPAT\Misc. 

CloudPAT users: Download the CDM21228_Setup.exe file from the Itamar Medical support site (https://www.itamar-medical.com/articles/watchpat-300-initialization-cloudpat-users-only/

  1. Right-click on the file and select “Run as administrator” 
  2. You may see a message from ‘User Access Control’ asking ‘Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?’. If so, click Yes to continue.
  3. Press the Extract button as shown in Figure 1

  1. Press the Next button as shown in Figure 2

  1. Accept the including license terms agreement as shown in Figure 3 and the drivers will be automatically installed

  1. Select Finish
  2. Connect your WatchPATTM 300 device to any available USB port on your computer and wait for Windows to complete its installation. Wait for a one minute before disconnecting.
  3. Repeat step #9 for each USB port on your computer.
  4. You can verify successful installation by preparing a new WatchPATTM 300 study (with the option to Synchronize the WatchPATTM 300  clock) without any errors.

Uninstalling FTDI drivers procedure

  1. Disconnect the WatchPATTM 300 device from the computer 
  2. zzzPAT users: Locate the CDMuninstallerGUI.exe file on your computer where zzzPAT (version 5.0.75.xx or greater) was installed. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Itamar medical\zzzPAT\Misc. 

CloudPAT users: 

  1. Right-click on the file and select “Run as administrator” 
  2. You may see a message from ‘User Access Control’ asking ‘Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your PC?’. If so, click Yes to continue.
  3. Delete the 6001 value from the Product ID and leave it blank as seen in Figure 5

  1. Select “Add” and you will receive Figure 6

  1. Finally, click “Remove Devices” at the bottom of the Window and the drivers for all FTDI converters will be removed. You will get one or more message boxes popping up to confirm this.
  2. You can close the program by clicking on the X

Note

If you connect the WatchPATTM 300 device to the computer without first installing the drivers, the corresponding drivers will be automatically downloaded to your computer via the internet but there is a possibility of drivers not installed correctly and you may experience a problem preparing a new study or uploading a study. In that case the drivers should be manually uninstalled (see procedure for Uninstalling above) and reinstalled using the Installing procedure.
